The E&T Innovation Awards awarded RTS silver place in the ‘Most Innovative Project for the Future of Manufacturing’ category at their London ceremony which was attended by Alan Wilson, MK Test Systems’ Engineering Director.

At the same time, RTS was announced as the award winner for the ‘AeroTech’ category at the Tech South West awards, held in Bristol’s Aerospace Museum under the wings of Concorde. Eight MK Test team members attended the ceremony to accept the award and to celebrate the company’s achievement.

Nick Baker, NPD Manager and RTS project leader was one of the team who accepted the award at the Tech South West event.  He commented “I was really proud to accept the award on behalf of the wider team. It’s such a great achievement and nice to be recognised for the all the hard work that went into making RTS a reality. Congratulations to everyone involved!”

Carl Bullock, MK Test’s Managing Director added “It was a very proud evening for us all – we were on tenterhooks waiting to hear the news from both events. To have been recognised by two industry events for our work and for the RTS project is fantastic. A big well done to the team.”

RTS has also been shortlisted for ‘Test Product of the Year’ in the upcoming Elektra Awards, which are being held on 30th November.

About RTS

RTS is a high speed, automatic wire harness test system.  A vast departure from traditional rack-based systems, it uses modular components to take the test points directly to the aircraft or other vehicle.

The RTS system reduces interface cables by 90% and testing time by 30%.  It was installed on the A320 final assembly line at Airbus Toulouse in July 2021.

The name RTS stands for real time scanning, the technology behind the system which was adapted from the automotive sector.
