If you live in a band E-H property, and have savings below £16,000, you may qualify for a special type of council tax reduction, even if your income is quite high. The maximum amount of this type of council tax reduction does not start to be reduced until your income is over £321 a week if you are single, or £479 a week if you have a partner or children.

The maximum amount of this type of council tax reduction is not the whole of your council tax liability. If another type of council tax reduction would reduce your bill more, the local authority awards that one instead.
